WebJul 19, 2007 · The Remington 11/87 was a redesign of the 1100 in 1987, hence the name 11/87. They changed it to a 3" chamber with slightly different gas porting for the barrel. This is a fine and dependable firearm. Those that have them will defend them whole hearted and those that bash either had a bad experience with one or never owned one.
