When I turn off Accelerate 3D Graphics, this issue goes away. I have never seen anything good with the addition of this feature. I find it buggy and useless. That forces it to decode using the CPU, which is a horribly inefficient bottleneck, especially if you don't have a super beefy CPU that can shrug it off, or one with an APU graphics chip like the AMD G series processors.
