Only thing I can think at the moment is if you just did the overwrite install, it kept the problem. If thats the case, try uninstalling and then reinstalling. Other than that, I'm stumped. WebApr 28, 2024 · OK some progress with this. It appears that the lost address book and the inability to send mail is linked. I gather that Thunderbird no longer uses the .mab files for the address book - rather it now uses .sqlite files (abook.slite, history.sqlite). WebAug 4, 2015 · The spell check button is also greyed out when the send button is. The most recent symptom is Thunderbird going non-responsive at random times. I've tried removing/reinstalling as well as renaming the various appdata thunderbird directories and then installing to create a new profile - same problem.
